‘Come and sing’ choral workshops
Northampton Philharmonic Choir has established a tradition of holding biennial ‘Come and Sing’ concerts. We spend an afternoon preparing music which is then presented at a concert in the evening. All keen singers are welcome to join us, and there is no audition. As well as the opportunity to sing with the regular members of the choir and to receive expert tuition in choral singing, participants are treated to a splendid afternoon tea! Works previously sung at these events have included Handel’s Messiah, Fauré’s Requiem, Rutter’s Gloria and a selection of favourite English choral music.
Our next ‘Come and Sing’ concert will be held on March 24th 2018, when we will be rehearsing and performing Brahms Requiem (in German) at St Michael’s Church in Northampton. Participants are asked to arrive for registration at 2pm, with the rehearsal staring at 2.30pm. We will take a break for tea at 5pm, and the concert will then start at 6pm.
The fee for workshop participants is £10. Admission to the concert is free.
It will help the choir to manage the workshop if you let us know in advance if you are thinking of attending. Contact us here.
