The Choir Ethos & Its Privacy Policy and How We Respect YOUR Data

Formed in 1896 as Northampton Musical Society (NMS) the choir has always tried to respect its members and our valued supporters. We are very serious about the Privacy rights of both our Members and our Website Visitors alike

We value your input and promise to respect your data and honour your wishes. We aim to deal with any request as soon as we are aware. While we aim to check email regularly, we have also included a contact number so you can speak immediately to a real human if you have any concerns.

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • • Membership Information if you Join including, postal address, phone number and email
  • • Pictures taken at our concerts and events

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • • Choir Members are photographed at events and practices

Northampton Philharmonic Choir Use of Data

We use the information that you have given us in order to promote the choir, get new members, list testimonials and nice comments people have made and show visual recors of our events. We do not share this information with anyone.

Your information is securely stored on our Web Server. We keep Membership information for 3 years. We will then dispose your information by secure deletion from our servers.

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

We ask you to bear with us though as we are a small organisation. However you can also complain to the ICO if you are unhappy with how we have used your data.

Once again, we do stress that we are a small organisation and we do intend to treat people's personal data with respect. Our intention is primarily to boost our organisation's presence on the web and helps us get new members. The support of our members helps keep the choir going and enables us to put on future concerts.
