The Northampton Philharmonic Choir are delighted to introduce our new President.

Rachel Nicholls, who is widely recognised as one of the most exciting sopranos of her generation, has agreed to take on the role, following the decision by the Rev Richard Coles to stand down from the role.

Originally from Bedford, Rachel is in demand both as a dramatic soprano as well as a concert artist. She is also a passionate advocate of music education and is regularly in demand for masterclasses and as a consultant, scheduling these activities around her performing career.

On accepting the role as our President Rachel said:

“Choral Music has been a huge part of my musical life throughout my career. I love working with Choral Societies and I am a passionate advocate of amateur music-making. I am absolutely delighted to be taking up the role of President of Northampton Philharmonic Choir and look forward to supporting the Choir in its future endeavours.”
